Can I Do It?

If you were wondering if a real estate agent's career is the right path for you, you came to the right place. Many people try switching careers without knowing what that decision implicates. That is why they end up spending a lot of money and time. In the process they get low results, feeling of failure and loss of direction or goals.Know what you are getting yourself into and make an informed decision.

What is a real estate career really like?

Real estate agents build their career in connecting those who are willing to sell property (from family homes to land development) to those who are willing to buy property. Sounds easy enough? There's more than meets the eye. You need to be able to find property for sale, estimate property value, negotiate for your customers, come to agreements with bankers and mortgage officers, then present property to your clients and close the sale.

In a real estate career you set your own hours, and rarely have to step into the office. At the same time, your day may not be as flexible as you might imagine. Open houses - showing a property to the general public- are almost invariably held on evenings or weekends considering your clients may be unable to see properties during the traditional workweek.

The key moment in the process is negotiating, from property owners, to banks, and to your customers. It all lies on your communication skills.

A house is the biggest investment most of us make in our lifetime. To win a customer over you must be a compelling negotiator.

You have what it takes to have a good real estate career if you:
1) Are a people person.
2) Are not afraid to be aggressive.
3) Have a sense for finance.
4) Are very good in math.
